What we hold, and why.
Short version: we process government records about property, and we collect the minimum about you needed to run an account.
Public records we process
Mimir ingests records published by government offices — county recorders, assessors, corporate registries, courts and city agencies. These records frequently name individuals, because deeds, mortgages and corporate filings name individuals. We did not create that information and we cannot amend it at source.
We resolve those records into one canonical entry per building and per person, and infer control relationships between them. Resolution creates a view that did not previously exist, even though every input was public. We treat that as a responsibility rather than a technicality: Mimir is sold to institutions for diligence, underwriting and recovery work, not as a consumer people-search product.
Not a consumer reporting agency
Mimir is not a consumer reporting agency and its output is not a consumer report. It must not be used, in whole or in part, to establish eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing tenancy, or any other purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Account information
For customers we hold what an account requires: name, work email, organisation, authentication credentials and audit logs of access. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with advertising networks.
Where data lives
The corpus and the application run on infrastructure we control, reachable only through an authenticated tunnel. Separation between customer workspaces is enforced in the database through row-level security rather than by application code remembering to filter.
Correcting a record
If you believe a record about you is wrong, write to sean@mimirgrp.com and we will trace it back to its source document. Where our resolution is at fault, we fix it. Where the underlying government record is wrong, the correction has to be made at the office that recorded it — and we will tell you exactly which document and which office.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be posted here. This page is a plain-language summary of our practices and is not a contract; the governing terms are in the customer agreement.
