A summary of how Mimir may be used. Signed customers are governed by their agreement, which controls wherever the two differ.
Permitted use
Mimir is licensed for institutional research, diligence, underwriting, portfolio monitoring, asset discovery and recovery work. Under a data licence you may build products on the resolved records, with provenance preserved on every field.
Prohibited use
You may not use Mimir to make eligibility decisions about individuals covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, including credit, insurance, employment and tenancy screening. You may not use it to harass, intimidate or stalk any person, and you may not resell raw output as a consumer-facing people-search service.
Accuracy and inference
Identity resolution is deterministic and reproducible. Control relationships are inferred from behaviour in the public record, carry a confidence value, and are presented as inference. Precision and recall are not yet published. Mimir is provided as an investigative and analytical tool: verify anything material against the cited source document before relying on it in a transaction.
Source records
Underlying records originate with government offices and carry their errors. Mimir does not warrant the accuracy of a source document; it warrants that it will show you which document a value came from.
Availability
Service levels, support commitments and uptime targets are set in the customer agreement. Nothing on this website constitutes an offer or a guarantee of service.
